Self Help Skills

Many parents ask for ideas to support children to develop self-help skills.

Self-help skills such as toileting, dressing and using a knife and fork are crucially important to allow children to become independent learners and be ready to start their reception year in school.  At Whitecross we work in partnership with families to give children time to practise and build confidence with self-help skills to raise self-esteem and self-belief.

See separate documents below for advice with toilet training, dressing and eating.
